Paper coating trials by Finland’s Åbo Akademi University show that for some applications, soft-tipped Duroblade® can significantly outperform conventional steel blades and even ceramic blades in delivering optimum coating quality, because of their ability to tolerate greater variations in coating color parameters.
In southern Germany, meanwhile, the Mochenwangen mill – famous for supplying the paper used in the celebrated Harry Potter novels – has substantially reduced chemical costs and improved paper quality with products from BTG’s Mütek™ instrumentation portfolio.
