Message from BTG’s new President
As the newly appointed President of BTG, I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to affirm BTG’s continued commitment to developing and applying innovative solutions to today’s greatest challenges in paper and paperboard manufacturing.
My first assignment in the pulp & paper industry was in 1978 as a student paper engineer intern in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Needless to say, a great deal has changed over the past 30 years. Today, we all face extraordinary challenges related to energy costs, fiber availability and cost, environmental protection and overall demand, as the rise of electronic media redefines paper consumption behaviors in developed economies.
Your challenges and requirements are the cornerstone of what we do at BTG. Every day, our field and research engineers are working to provide you with new, unique solutions – whether in paper coating metering, tissue creping, or consistency control. We aim to develop solutions that are not just ideal technical fits, but which add real value to your bottom line. Solutions that facilitate cost reductions and/or improved productivity. At BTG we already reinvest over 7% of our annual turnover into ongoing R&D efforts – quite a commitment by industry standards.
Over the weeks to come, I look forward to meeting many of you and to working with you to further understand your operating challenges, so that BTG can best align its investment in resources and technology to provide you with timely, meaningful results.
