Privacy Notice for BTG STRATUS app

Introduction and Scope

BTG Instruments AB (“BTG”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Notice outlines how we collect, use, protect, and disclose information in connection with your use of the BTG STRATUS mobile application (the “App”) and related services (together, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Notice and agree to be bound by its terms. If you are acting on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you confirm that you have the authority to accept this Privacy Notice on their behalf.

This Privacy Notice does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that we do not own or control.

1. What Information we Collect

BTG applies a strict no-logs Notice. We do not collect or process any personal data beyond what is strictly necessary for the basic functioning and maintenance of the App.

Specifically:
– we do not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, contact details, or account credentials.
– we do not collect location data, device identifiers, or usage patterns tied to an individual user.

Automatically collected data is limited to technical diagnostic or statistical information (e.g., frequency of use, system errors) solely for the purpose of improving app performance and identifying misuse. This data is anonymized and cannot be linked to individual users.

2. Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing

We may process minimal, anonymized data where necessary to:
– ensure the technical functionality of the App,
– protect the App from misuse or security threats,
– gather anonymized usage insights to improve service delivery.

The legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in maintaining the functionality and security of the App (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

BTG may act as a data processor or data controller depending on the nature of the relationship. If a separate data processing agreement (DPA) exists, that agreement will define the respective roles and responsibilities.

3. Information Sharing

BTG does not share your personal data with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or disclose data for marketing or commercial purposes. Your privacy is paramount, and no user-specific data is shared with external entities.

4. Data Retention

As we do not collect personal data, we do not store or retain any personal information. Therefore, data retention periods, data access, correction, deletion, or portability rights do not apply.

5. Information Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect the App and any incidental data processed. However, we remind users that no internet or wireless transmission is ever fully secure. While we strive to safeguard information, we cannot guarantee complete protection from unauthorized access during transmission.

6. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted within the App and become effective immediately unless otherwise stated. Your continued use of the App signifies your acceptance of the revised Notice.

We will not materially change the way we use any data without first obtaining your consent, where required by law.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, individuals have certain rights regarding their personal data, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. However, because we do not collect or process personal data through this App, these rights do not apply.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Sweden, this is the Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY): www.imy.se.

8. International Data Transfers

No personal data is transferred outside the European Union or European Economic Area.
